Happy Holidays! This December First Friday is happening in conjunction with DGI's Festival of Lights, so there are a lot of fun things planned. Here is a list of the official First Friday events:


  • GreenHill - 200 N Davie St:

  • Urban Grinders - 116 N Elm St: "Lady Q" December Featured Artist Opening Reception: "The Pruning of a Rose"A series of work depicting the grooming methods of different cultures in an effort to promote the beauty in understanding each others humanity. These mixed media pieces will hopefully connect the viewer with someone of a different walk of life through the universal memory of bonding over grooming practices. Follow Lady Q at @Q_kindainspires. Music provided by DJ Esthesium. Also come and check out our "Holiday Window Display"

  • Beerthirty - 505 N Greene St: beerthirty will feature ReCaps artist Mike Valle. Mike repurposes bottle caps into beautiful works of art.

  • Iris-West Jewelers - 121 W McGee St A: Iris West Jewelers will be joined by Mavis Liggett and her beautiful artwork. Come and experience Mavis' incredible oil paintings displayed along side our fine jewelry collections. Mavis is a drawing and oil painting instructor for Art Alliance of Greensboro, and has sold her paintings both locally and internationally, while Iris West Jewelers showcases some of the area's more unusual jewelry designers like Gelin Abaci Tension Rings and Chris Ploof Designs Damascus steel, meteorite and Mokume Gane wedding bands. Refreshments will be served.

  • ReAligned - 115 E Lewis St: Holiday punch and snacks and music and bestest of all please join in our yarnbombing a holiday star! Peace and love to all

  • Beer Co - 121 W McGee St: Stone Brewing EVENT!!! We will tapping: Stone 2014 IRS, Stone Xocoveza, Stone Enjoy By and maybe a surprise or two! We will also be giving away free samples of packaged Stone products and free swag!!!

  • Just Be - 352 S Elm St: Just Be will be featuring handmade ornaments by local artist, Karla Taylor and serving cider by Vida Pour Tea.

  • Vintage to Vogue - 124 N Davie St: Come join us for our first annual Jingle Market in Downtown Greensboro during the Festival of Lights. There will be tons of goodies, just in time for the holidays... Vintage and festive Christmas sweaters, jewelry, sweets (like cookies and chocolate), coffees, artwork, and so much more. The best part is that it's all local businesses in the Triad area... and the market is FREE to get in!The Jingle Market is going on: Friday, Dec 2nd 6pm - 9pm and Saturday, Dec 3rd 12pm-3pm. The Jingle Market is in partnership with The Fairy Godmother's Closet, which is a charity that provides prom dresses to children that have special needs.

  • Elements Gallery - 526A S Elm St: We at Elements Gallery are proud of our variety of locally made artwork ranging from paintings, textiles, mixed media, clay pottery, jewelry and photography, to articles crafted in wood.

  • Oscar Oglethorpe – 226 S Elm St: Oscar Oglethorpe Eyewear will be hosting a Modern Robot Production on Friday, December 2nd from 6-10 pm. Join us as local artist Ben Singer spins a magical web of film and music as he projects a moving picture backdrop accompanied by original tunage. Featuring tasty treats and wine by Rioja! Wine Bar, don't miss this must-see event!

  • International Civil Rights Museum – 134 S Elm Street: Join the us December 2, 6-8pm, for the "Woolworth's Winter Celebration"! As local talent spreads winter cheer celebrating the various seasonal holidays. Free & Open to the Public!

  • City 616 – 614 S Elm Street: City 616 is now featuring a Recurring First Friday event on the 2nd floor of 614 South Elm Street. This event will host (but is not limited to) local artists exploring the intersection of their Christian faith and their craft. We will have entertainment, refreshments, and, of course, amazing art! Come and join us December 2nd!

  • Elsewhere – 606 S Elm St: For December First Friday, Elsewhere Fall Interns are collaborating on a group show with The Art Truck, UNCG Art Department's mobile art gallery and community outreach agent. Stop by Elsewhere and experience "Six Very Different Things At Once. For More info on The Art Truck:

  • Vivid Interiors – 513 S Elm St: We’ll be open late with festive goodies and hot chocolate for donations to Mary’s House!

  • The Urban Gardener, 120 Barnhardt St - Our Indy market is the South-end destination for First Friday.... Along with our Christmas trees and wreaths we will offer a selection of local artists and our usual eclectic mix of metal garden art suitable for gifts for anyone on your list! We will also offer music, food, wine and beer at no charge. With a fire pit for warmth and conversation and free hot chocolate we are family friendly and dog friendly, as always. Please come down the extra half-block off elm street to check out our magical spot. We are in the railyard right next door to Gibbs hundred. Prepare to be enchanted!
