Celebrate Centric Brands in the South End Block Party: Centric Brands, one of the world's leading lifestyle brand collectives, is relocating its headquarters to Downtown Greensboro's South End in the new Gateway Building! To help welcome Centric Brands' 200 new employees, we're throwing a block party celebration! Held in and around The Gateway Building and Bain Street, the block party will include a Centric Brands show room, a ferris wheel, food trucks, beverages for sale from SouthEnd Brewing and Fainting Goat Spirits, and vendors! 4:00-9:00 PM Learn more. 

 

The Voodoo Orchestra at Carolina Theatre, 310 S. Greene Street: Bobby Previte, Charlie Hunter and some of the Triad’s best jazz musicians come together to play Miles Davis’s Bitches Brew for a live audience. 8:00 PM. Learn more.

 

Ambleside Gallery Exhibition Opening, 528 S. Elm Street: Featuring the works from five painters, Pat Dews, Deborah Squier, Matthew Hillier, Richard Neiwerth, and Richard Sedlack, this new exhibition will continue through November 30. The exhibition will include live music by jazz pianist Drorester Alexander. 6:00-9:00 PM

 

Lee Jeans Birthday Bash, 300 S. Elm Street: Celebrating 130 years of style with the launch of the Reissue Collection. There will be live entertainment and light refreshments. 6:00-9:00 PM

 

No Straw November Kick-Off, 200 N Davie Street (second floor):  The event features a free screening of the documentary "Straws," face-painting, music, giveaways, and sustainable vendors. Vintage to Vogue Boutique First Friday Fashion Show, 530 S. Elm Street: Dj MikeWawa on the 1's and 2's, Drink Specials, Discounts and a FASHION SHOW! Starting at 6:30 PM (fashion show at 8:00 PM). This is a free event and you don't need a ticket to attend.

 

GreenHill Center for NC Art, 200 N. Davie Street: Join us in the gallery for an artist’s talk by Gesche Wuerfel and live music by the UNCG Graduate String Quartet. 6-8 PM. Plus, don’t miss a pop-up exhibition of paintings by Raleigh-based artist Drew Deane who will be on hand to speak with visitors, 6:00-8:30 PM.

 

Wine Time at Aspen Boutique, 227 S. Elm Street: Wine, shopping and Imani is back! The store will also be on hand at the Centric Block Party. 

 

Polish and Threads, 236 S. Elm Street: New arrivals, cocktails, candy apples from Julissa's Custom Creations, and live music. 6-9 PM. 

 

Greensboro Children's Museum, 220 N. Church Street: Go 'fishing' in our newest exhibit Water Wonders, visit the chickens in The Edible Schoolyard garden, take a climb on the popular XXL Neptune Climbers and more at the Greensboro Children's Museum for just $3 per person from 5:00-8:00 PM.

 

Wizard of Oz Downtown Parade, 520 S. Elm Street: Follow the Yellow Brick Road to celebrate the beginning of "Wizard of Oz" season at Community Theatre of Greensboro! Parade begins at 6:30 PM; view the map route here


Thankfulness at the International Civil Rights Center & Musuem, 134 S. Elm Street: Bringing our diverse community together to share in thankfulness. Featuring performances by Triad A Capella Connection and Sai Shruthi Laya Music School. Guests are asked to bring a canned or non-perishable food item to be donated to a local food bank. All are welcome | 6:00-8:00 PM

 

Center City Park - 200 N. Elm Street: Drum roll, please! First Friday Drum Circle is back! Thanks to Healing Earth Rhythms, we're bringing drum circles each month through November. No drum? No problem, there are loaners you can use. No experience needed, everyone is welcome.

 

Southend Brewing Grand Opening, 117B W Lewis Street: Celebrate the Grand Opening of Downtown's newest brewery! When it came to opening a brewery, dad and son, Eric and Seth, wanted to create a location that felt like the perfect place to relax, have a beer, grab a bite, and strike up a conversation. Fainting Goat Spirits Christmas Whiskey Release & Cocktails, 115 W Lewis Street: It's the most wonderful time of the year! C.B. Fisher's Christmas Whiskey is here. Bottles available for sale in the tasting room starting on Nov. 1 and will be here until they sell out. A Night at the Cinema, Circa 1920s at the Masonic Temple, 426 W. Market Street: Take a trip back in time to the 1920's at the Greensboro Masonic Temple for their 90th Anniversary! Watch "The Hunchback of Notre Dame (1923)" starring Lon Chaney, accompanied by their newly refurbished 1928 Theater Pipe Organ played by renowned Theater Organist, Mark Anderson! Acclaimed Blues Musician Lakota John will delight and charm us with live music as well. 7:00-10:30 PM

 

AFTER HOURS:

Day of the Dead Party at Boxcar Bar + Arcade, 120 W Lewis Street:  The party goes from 9:00 PM-2:00 AM in the main bar. Compete for prizes in a skeleton-themed costume contest at 10:00 PM.

 

The Good Watts with special guest Ben Sutton at Natty Greene's, 345 S Elm Street: Enjoy live music, great food and even better beer.   9:00-11:00 PM
